Hello - I'm Phil!

I've been passionate about all things garden and houseplant related for a number of years now - having learnt a lot from my grandparents growing up -  but like many people out there, my interest gathered pace during the Covid-19 pandemic and the various lockdowns that came along with it. I was super lucky to have a small London garden so was able to escape my four walls from time to time, and when the garden centres opened up ahead of most other shops...that was it!

I've taken a number of courses following that, on garden design and planting, read around the subject, subscribed to all the magazines, and 4 years later have managed to amass a really useful and practical knowledge which I'm now keen to share. There's nothing nicer that greenery to brighten up your day - whether outside or indoors.

I've transformed a good number of green spaces - including my own mini-oasis of calm - but there was no way I'd have been able to afford the costs associated with a full garden re-design. I'm not suggesting the expense isn't worth it - far from it ! But very few of us have the money to do that even if we want to...

 

Then there's the knowledge point. I know dozens of people who have ended up spending hundreds of pounds worth of plants, thinking they look nice, only to have them all die or not thrive due to putting them in the wrong place, at the wrong time of year, or in the wrong type of soil.
